You can fully customize your MyStories book — from editing your stories and formatting text to placing photos, recording audio, and managing questions. Here's how to do it all from your MyStories dashboard.
How to edit an existing story:
1. Go to your dashboard at mystories.com.
2. Click the 'Completed' tab.
3. Find the story you want to edit and click 'Edit story':
4. Make your changes in the text box.
Note: You can use the undo/redo function to revert or reapply changes made during your current editing session:
How to add and position photos in your story:
1. While editing a story, click 'Add photo' at the top of the page:
2. Select a photo from your device (formats: JPG, JPEG, PNG, or WEBP).
3. To move the photo within the story, click the photo and use the drag handle icon to reposition it (see red box below).
4. To resize the photo, click and drag one of its corners.
5. To add a caption, use the caption box that appears below the photo.
You can add up to 20 photos per story. If not placed inside the story, photos will appear at the end of that section in the printed book.
How to record and transcribe your story
In the story editor, click the 'Record' button in the upper-right corner:
Allow microphone access if prompted.
Click 'Start recording' and begin speaking.
Use 'Pause' and 'Resume' as needed.
When you’re finished, click 'Stop recording'.
Note: Recordings are limited to 15 minutes each - but you can record as many times as you wish.
Your recording will be automatically transcribed and added below the existing text. You can:
Edit the transcribed text like regular writing.
Add multiple recordings per story.
Use the icons to play, edit, download, or delete in each clip.
Note: deleting a recording will not remove the transcribed text.
How to format your text
While editing a story, use the toolbar above the text box to apply formatting:
B for bold
I for italics
U for underline
These tools help highlight key phrases and improve readability.
