MyHeritage MyStories Book Layout Details
The MyStories book is designed to be a durable family heirloom. Here are the key specifications for the layout and physical product:
Format: A 6x9 inch (15x22 cm) hardcover book.
Color: All pages and images are printed in full color.
Page Limit: Due to printing limitations, each book can have a maximum of 500 pages. If your collection of stories exceeds this limit, you can split the content into multiple volumes.
Photo Placement: You can include up to 20 photos per story. Photos can be positioned within the text or placed at the end of a section.
Captions: Every photo attached to a story can include a custom caption to provide context for future generations.
How to View and Preview Your MyHeritage MyStories Book
You do not have to wait for the physical book to arrive to see your progress. MyHeritage provides a digital preview tool to help you review your layout and formatting.
Step 1: Sign in to your MyHeritage MyStories account
Navigate to the official MyStories website and log in using your account credentials to access your personal dashboard.
Step 2: Open the book preview
Click the "Preview book" button located at the top of your dashboard page. This action will generate a digital view of the interior of your book, showing all the questions you have answered and the photos you have uploaded. (In case you see a message called "Pop-up blocked", please see the note at the bottom of this page.)
Step 3: Download the PDF version
If you want to save a copy to your computer, you can download the PDF file directly from the preview screen. This digital version can also be uploaded to your family tree on MyHeritage as a permanent digital asset.
Customization Options for the Layout
Before you send your book to print, you have several options to customize the appearance of your MyHeritage MyStories memoir.
Customizing the Book Cover
You can choose from a variety of colors for the hardcover. You also have the ability to upload a specific cover photo and customize the title, byline, and the text that appears on the spine.

Managing Questions and Stories
If you prefer a different order for your memories, you can reorder the questions within your dashboard. You can also add your own custom questions or edit existing responses at any time before the final printing process begins. Please note: If you want to preview your MyStories book, please make sure to have pop-ups for MyStories enabled. If you see on the top right corner of your screen - inside the search bar - a message called "Pop-up blocked", click on it and select to always allow pop-ups from MyStories.
